Lecturing and Facilitation

Ellie lectures on her practice, giving talks, performances and workshops at universities internationally including University of the Arts London, Sorbonne Paris and UAM Mexico City. 

Ellie and the team have a variety of workshops that can be tailored to fit your context. Ellie is experienced at running workshops for participants from 5 to 95 years old. If you wish to book a session please get in touch via our contact page.

PART 1: THE ETIQUETTE OF GRIEF WORKSHOP

A performative workshop about autobiographical making which is particularly good for artists, theatre practitioners and either HE or FE students.

*Requires a Theatre space. Single workshops of up to 2.5 hours or day long sessions are available. 

PART 2: THE RESERVATION

A performative workshop about devising Intimate and one-to-one performances, appropriate for artists, theatre practitioners and HE or FE students.

PART 3: WHAT IS LEFT?

An academic workshop around the Ethics of Participation, appropriate for artists, theatre practitioners and HE or FE students. This session could also sit well accompanying the exhibition itself.

PART 4: THE UNFAIR

A combination of performative and academic approaches to Site Specific and Immersive devising appropriate for youth theatres, artists, theatre practitioners and HE or FE student. 

This session could go alongside a presentation of the piece or as a stand alone workshop. Day long sessions are available

PART 5: THE CROSSING

We can provide a led session of the crossing that guides you through the resource and allows for conversations around end of life planning to evolve. 

Works particularly well with a younger demographic and with groups that have a preexisting relationship.

This activity can also be hosted as a drop in or death cafe format. 

PART 6: JOURNEY WITH ABSENT FRIENDS

A workshop around remembrance, very conversational with a hint of crafting to get the conversations flowing. This session could go alongside a presentation of the piece or as a stand alone workshop. 

Works particularly well with an older demographic and with groups that have a pre-existing relationship.

PART 7: ALL THAT LIVES

Ofrendas. A workshop around remembrance and shrine making allowing the trauma of loss a visual expression with real artefacts from the participants' lives. 

 

Works particularly well with groups that have a pre-existing relationship and must be a minimum of 10 participants.

TEACHING AND LECTURING

Ellie is a visiting lecturer and mentor at a number of institutions including Leeds Beckett University, Leeds Arts University and University of Leeds. She regularly runs modules at undergraduate and post graduate levels. She has organised two interdisciplinary, international conferences in partnership with Historian Dr. Laura King at University of Leeds supported by The British Academy and the AHRC. Ellie has given talks and performance papers at dinners, symposiums and events including Leeds 2023 Breakfast, Wrought Festival Sheffield and the inaugural Making Routes symposium with Nic Green, Adrian Howells, Kieran Hurley and Wrights and Sites. She spoke at Good Girls Eat Dinner alongside Cathy Newman from Channel 4 News, Anna Watkins from Guardian Labs and international curator Fatos Ustek (see the videos below).
