Production Technical Manager and Scenic Designer/Maker
Matt has been working in theatre, dance and the Live Arts for all most 20 years, in various roles from production management and as a technician to set and prop designer. During my career, I have worked on a wide variety of projects from a large outdoor dance promenade performance with Tilted dance, an outdoor aerial show with Urban Angels. As well as working on multi-media projects with, Invisible Flock, 154 Collective and David Shearing. I have worked on puppet shows with Faulty Optic and Odd Doll. And have an extensive CV of scenic design credits for theatre companies based here in the UK and further afield.
I have a near decade long association with Ellie Harrison and the Grief Series having worked with Ellie on part one 'The Etiquette of Grief' back in 2010 and have contributed in some way to most parts since. I have spent an awful lot of time in a van with Ellie over the years touring the various parts of the Grief Series around the country, which has been very pleasant and mostly involving eating Jammy Dodgers!
I am based in a workshop at the Live Art Bistro in Leeds, where alongside the theatre work I create bespoke furniture and crafts for the people of Yorkshire and beyond, follow me on @matt.sykeshooban on Instagram
